Aside from a handful of quests from The Twenty-first Hall, Nud-melek isn't much of a leveling zone. That said, Nud-melek is featured prominently in Volume II, Books 3 and 4 of the epic story. Try to group your Nud-melek quests with the epic quests, especially the journey to
Balin's Camp, which also counts toward the Nud-melek exploration deed for a rank of
Loyalty.

Nud-melek is home to
The Sixteenth Hall, a challenging level 60+ group instance. Quests for The Sixteenth Hall come from The Shadowed Refuge in Foundations of Stone. Like other Moria instances, loot includes
Medallions of Moria and rare jewelry drops. Burglars and Rune-keepers will want to visit here to complete their
level 58 class quests.

Keep in mind that these are only a few of the virtues you can work on in this zone - specifically the ones you'll find useful for surviving Moria and are relatively easy to get. You may want to return later to earn more. See Choosing Your Virtues for more information.
The Epic Story and Nud-melek
Volume II, Book 3: The Lord of Moria (54-56) of the epic story sends you to Balin's Camp in Nud-melek. Grab a friend or two - it's a long slog through Nud-melek to Balin's Camp, and you'll need help to complete the other quest from Zelem-melek that sends you here. First Hall and the Bridge of Khazad-dum are the setting for a session-play chapter later in Book 3. You'll return to Nud-melek once more to collect items for a chapter of Volume II, Book 4: Fire and Water (56-57).
Crafting and Nud-melek
Nud-melek offers Tier "6b" gathering, meaning Khazad-iron and Khazad-gold ore, Extraordinary hides, Mallorn wood and Sage caskets. Filled with level 57-58 mobs, Second Hall offers good gathering with the exception of ore, which is fairly rare in this zone. The nearest crafting facilities are in Twenty-first Hall.
